FEES

Some students may be eligible for free tuition on many of our courses if they are in receipt of
any of the following:

Unemployed and in receipt of Jobseekers Allowance.
Are on a means-tested state benefit:
Income Support
An unwaged dependant of someone claiming one of these benefits
Disabled Persons Tax Credit
Working Tax Credit (Contact Part Time Courses for clarification)
Taking a programme for Adult Basic Education (ABE) or
English for Speakers of Other Languages.
You are over 16 and under 19 years old at the start of the course.

You will be asked to provide evidence each term to support your claim for free tuition.

EXAM / REGISTRATION FEES
Exam and/or registration fees are payable in ALL cases even if you receive free tuition. You will be advised
of these at your first class, but they could be refundable should you be eligible for various European Social Fund
projects run at Truro College.

CHILD CARE FUNDING
If you are eligible for free tuition (see categories above) or your gross annual household income is less than £22,000 you may be entitled to financial support towards childcare while attending your course. If you need financial assistance in the purchase of course materials for certificated courses this may also be available. Contact Student Services for guidance: 01872 267130.

REFUNDS
A full refund will be made if a class does not start or closes after one session. After a course has started, pro-rata refunds can only be made if you are ill (Medical Certificate required) or if you move from the County or a change of job makes it impossible to attend. All refund requests must be made in writing to the Principal.

INITIAL MATERIALS FEE

Where possible the initial materials fee has been shown. These are payable even if you receive
free tuition. ALL students will be required to provide their own books and materials.

Fees MUST be paid at the time of enrolment.

FREE TUITION

The tuition fee for all courses, both in the Future Prospects and Fresh Outlooks sections and
including qualifications obtained through the Open Learning Centre, is FREE
(unless otherwise stated) if you fall into any of the categories below :

Unemployed and in receipt of Jobseekers Allowance
Are on a Means-tested State Benefit: Income Support
Disabled persons Tax credit
Housing/Council Tax Benefit
Working Family Tax Credit
or
are an unwaged dependent of someone claiming one of these benefits
or
if you are taking a programme for Adult Basic Education (ABE) or English for speakers of other languages

DURATION
Unless otherwise stated, courses will run for the academic year
